Recent Cases: 

David's practice focuses on government investigations and federal criminal and civil litigation. Since 2005, David has represented clients in government investigations and litigation involving, among other things, alleged commodities manipulation; stock options back dating; tax fraud; price fixing; securities fraud; environmental crimes; copyright and trademark infringement, theft of trade secrets, and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Examples of David's recent representations include:

Representing, with David Gerger, the Glassell Family Foundation, to successfully defend the will of Houston philanthropist and oilman Alfred Glassell.

Second chaired six-week jury trial in case alleging violations of Commodities Exchange Act and fraud in the natural gas trading industry.

Representing, with David Gerger, Dynegy executive Jamie Olis on resentencing after appeal, which led to an 18 year reduction in the sentence.

Briefing and arguing three cases before the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.



Prior Experience:

From 2000-2005, David practiced complex litigation at Baker Botts. David tried three cases to verdict, won summary judgment in others and took dozens of depositions.
